RheEnergise Press Release

15th Sept 2022

Proof of Concept Validated in Successful Demonstration .

Montreal, Canada –15/09/2022 - RheEnergise is proud to announce the results of their first field demonstration in Canada where its core value proposition has been validated for a third time.

A team of engineers from RheEnergise conducted a series of field tests on a ski hill in Canada. The aim of the test was to prove two hypotheses: firstly, to achieve the same power and energy, the water system would need twice the vertical elevation (50m) as compared to the High-Density Hydro system (25m), and secondly that at the same elevation, double the power or double the energy would be obtained with the high-density hydro solution compared to water. Previous tests carried out by RheEnergise have validated the HD Hydro concept in the laboratory environment, using test rigs designed to replicate the full pumped hydro system.

RheEnergise's Chief Technical Officer, Dr Tam
ás Bertényi said ‘The results confirmed, in a real-world environment, RheEnergise’s core proposition: High-Density Hydro(R) provides the same power and best-of-class economics as conventional pumped hydro energy storage, but on a much smaller hill.'

Stephen Crosher, CEO of RheEnergise said, ‘A huge milestone has been achieved and we’re thrilled. These demonstration results validate our High-Density Fluid formula and allow us to progress the technology to create a globally scalable solution in the energy storage sector.'

High-Density Hydro® is a Grid-scale energy storage solution, providing 2 to 16 hours of energy storage in the 10MW to 50MW power range. High-Density Hydro turns the supply of ultra-cheap, intermittent, renewable energy into stable and reliable electricity grids. Excess energy is stored in tanks underground within small hills (75m to 300m) that can be found nearly everywhere, creating hundreds of thousands of siting opportunities across the world.
